Many Catholics want to read the Bible but get bogged down by the long stretches that seem not to make sense or get lost among the sea of Old Testament names and places. Unlocking the Mystery of the Bible, an eight-part Bible study, helps you uncover the story woven throughout Scripture, so you can get the “big picture” of the Bible and understand what it’s all about. Aided by a unique color-coded Bible Timeline Chart that arranges the key people, places, and events of the Bible in chronological order, Unlocking the Mystery of the Bible will help you pick up the Bible with confidence and understand how you fit into God’s plan.
Ascension Catholic Church will begin theUnlocking the Mystery of the Biblestudy starting on Saturday, June 7th at 8:00am. We will meet weekly for nine weeks, skipping 4th of July weekend. During each meeting we will view an engaging video presentation followed by lively group discussion and fellowship.
This is the first of series of classes we are offering using courseware from Ascension Press. Register for the class and full courseware here. Optionally you can order the Ascension Press Catholic Bible and Catechism, which will be used during this and future courses. Materials ordered will be handed out during our first session.
Course signup fee - $35 includes the courseware for this session. This fee does not include costs for a Bible or Catechism which are required for this and future study groups. We want to ensure every parishioner has an opportunity to learn and grow in the faith. If you need assistance, select the $0 option and we will contact you to make arrangements.
Holy Bible - We recommend using The Great Adventure Catholic Bible. This has a color coded tab and a cross reference system connecting sacred scripture with the Catechism and will be used for this and future study classes.
Catechism - We recommend using Catechism of the Catholic Church, Ascension Edition which has a tab and a cross reference system that ties into the Holy Bible and their study programs. This will be used for this and future study classes.
